Carat Hosts Cupcake Day For The RSPCA

Last week, our Carat offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane got a serious sugar fix in the name of raising funds for Carat client, RSPCA Victoria.

‘Cupcake Day for the RPSCA’ is an annual national fundraising drive for the RSPCA. This year, Carat staff across our Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane offices got involved, with the event (unsurprisingly) proving to be a huge hit.

We sold (and ate) over $1,800 worth of goodies, with Denstu Aegis Network’s fundraising initiative, Green Beans, generously offering to match this figure, bringing the donation to a total of $3,770.

A massive thank you goes out to the seriously talented budding bakers among us who dedicated their weekends to preparing the delicious sweet treats. With over 1000 cupcakes, biscuits, and brownies being served up, it was certainly no mean feat.

Not that any of us needed an excuse to eat cake, but the sugar-guilts were certainly softened knowing the money raised goes toward giving mistreated animals a second chance at a better life.

According to the RSPCA:

• $24 can pay for an enrichment toy for a kitten • $50 can cover boarding costs for animals of domestic violence victims • $100 can desex a cat or dog so that it can be adopted into a loving home • $240 can subsidise emergency surgery for an animal in pain • $350 can keep an inspector on the road fighting animal cruelty

Animal welfare is a cause close to the heart of many Carat employees, a number of whom recently participated in RSCPA Million Paws Walk, along with their much-loved furry companions.

We were lucky enough to have some of those beloved pets visit us in our Melbourne office on Friday 14th. Much squealing, aggressive cuddling, and – happily – extra donations, ensued.
